how about this? everything in your home is removed and you have to replace it all with British made products only, omg no japanese telly or mac lipgloss, this is the idea for a new tv show starting on blighty featuring Dom Joly (him off trigger happy tv). He has to set about replacing his whole house and wardrobe with new british made stuff ,at least he'll still look dapper in his saville row suit.

when i came across the fab pure style home blog i just loved what interior designer lauren liess had managed to do to her new home in just two weeks! with help from her family,friends and handy husband she managed to turn her kitchen from a dark wood nightmare into a light airy space, with lots of open shelving to display fave kitchenware. Love how colour has been brought easily into the dining room with a desk and colourful artwork.

i don't really do that much cooking but for some reason i love cook books, jamie and nigella can't get enough. so when i saw that sophie dahl (love her) had brought a book out i was intreged so i ordered it from amazon (only cost £8 bargain!) this book is gorgeous not only are there some yummy but simple recipes with lush styling and illustrations, sophie also writes about her life and her relationship with food as an introduction to each section, split into the four seasons.

so....................... i got to thinking about what would be my dream kitchen to cook in

this is a great competition running on mydeco at the moment, if there is a community space in your area that's looking a bit dull and tired, the yourspace campaign is giving one uk project a chance to get their space made over by mega designers sir terrence conran and tara bernerd (love her work!) all you have to do is submit a picture of your space and tell them why it deserves a makeover entries close may 29th. I think this a great idea there is no reason why public spaces can't be beautifully designed and practical.

for the last few days i've been flicking through the lovely "paris : made by hand" by pia jane bijkerk, this book has been all over the design blogs and it looked so good i couldn't resist buying it.
the book features all the chic and unique shops of paris where the people in the know source the goodies for their projects, one of the shops that caught my eye was lune paris they have a gorgeous range of accesories and vintage stuff a lot of their bags and belts are crafted from mens ties, very cute.........

barbie's 50th birthday was celebrated in london last week with a store at the very fashionable dover st. market barbie is one lucky piece of gorgeous plastic with outfits designed by jeremy scott and vera wang and her very own plastic louboutins.
i have even added a barbie inspired card to my new card collection for accesori (available soon)

i love this from modish biz tips, the idea is that you post 5 realistic goals for your business on the site for every one to see, the idea being that if its there you are more likely to stick to it and get it done, and then on the 1st friday of the month everyone meets online to see how we all got on. this is a fab idea for a i'll do it tomorrow girl like me
my goals for the month are

1. new photos and descriptions on etsy
2. get note cards of prints printed
3. get new etsy banner
4.post more on twitter not just blog feed
5.create an editorial schedule for my blog
6.increase readership of my blog

already made a start designed a new etsy banner

what do you think? i redid the blog banner so i'm all matchy matchy now i like the softer colours.

i'd also love to know what you think about blog schedules, do you like blogs that have certain features on a certain day say like fashion on a monday or interiors on a friday or do you prefer blogs with less structure so you get more of a suprise when you go to read.

i have really been neglecting my poor blog lately, but i'm back now after having a bit of a wobble last week, but i found this great article on modish biz tips that made me feel better, this is an excellent blog especially for creative people who are trying to make a living from what they love to do.
anyway ........ after that i feel the need for some sugar what better way to get a sugar fix than with cup cakes especially fabulously decorated chocalate cup cakes bake it pretty is a fab shop with a big variety of cake toppers, bun cases, cake boxes and so on.
i haven't made cakes since i was little with my mum, but i would love to have a cup cakes and cocktails party.

v hotel is located in the hip pijp area just outside the city centre, the of the hotel has lots of little quirky touches including the tree in reception with room keys hung on it and the stencil art behind the bed not to mention the gorgeous fire in the lounge area.

over the weekend i decided to have a good tidy up, i started by going through all my old magazines, tearing out all the good stuff ( i now have two really cute baskets with my magazines in.)I found this gorgeous shoot from elle magazine inspired by punk and the queens jubilee, i just adore the styling and use of props in these pics and it reminded me a lot of my union jack love print i have in my etsy shop.

Hi hotel

Its so grey here at the moment i can't wait for the summer (if it ever comes) so i'm dreaming of holidays. Hi hotel is a boutique hotel in Nice, France it was designed by Matali crasset. Its a really sleek modern place with white walls and bold colour brought through in the furniture and touches on the walls. Each room has a projector tv, there are no mini bars in the rooms but each floor has a vending machine stocked with champagne. love it!!!

earlier today i was clearing out some stuff and i found my old portfolio from university i studied fashion design about four years ago. i thought it would be fun to post one of my old illustrations from my final collection, the collection was about a girls messy bedroom and dressing up it was supposed to be something like Carrie Bradshaw would wear on one of her wilder days especially the dress, or something like Kylie would wear on stage at one of her concerts.got to show at London graduate fashion week but can't find the pics !!!!!!!!

i was reading grazia at lunchtime and i saw the mixatape, it looks just like an old fashioned plastic tape cassette but SUPRISE it has a little pop out USB stick, you go to makeamixa pick your design fill the 1GB memory with music, it costs £19.99 but you get it delivered in a shiny box with stickers and a USB cable, this reminds me of being at school taping songs off the radio ,me and my friends making tapes for each other and decorating the boxes with stickers from smash hits.

i love black and white photographic images, especially stuff from the sixties and old fashion shoots, so glamorous. 55 max London is a company that has a huge library of images which can be put on to canvases or framed, they are a little pricey but still great to look at for inspiration.
Another great place for vintage and black and white images (and cheaper) is All posters they have a good selection of posters and prints.

i'm loving this feature in living etc. on decorating with two main colours this magenta and lime room has to be my favourite especially love the black and white brigitte bardot canvas.

iv'e spent all morning drooling over this book, New London style by Chloe Grimshaw with photographs by Ingrid Rasmussen.

the front cover is fashion stylists Jo Berryman's Hampstead living room with this gorgeous union jack wall hanging by Lucinda Chambers, its been seen in loads of blogs and magazines but i still love it.

It showcases the london homes of various of people within the fashion, music and arts industry, there are so many gorgeous photos in this book here are a few for you to drool over.

Each section of the book is split up into the different areas of london.
